Letter From the Pastor

January 2021

Hello friends and family,

Here we are at the beginning of a new calendar year and the hope many had regarding the sure change we would all experience with the turn of the page has been dashed against the stones. Well, most of us knew that realistically, things weren’t going to change over night, but the way it looks now, things some things have actually deteriorated a little more.

This gives us an opportunity. A real opportunity to help people recall that the hope for the faithful follower of Jesus will not be found in health, wealth, philosophical ideology, religious enlightenment, or political power but in Christ alone. He is our rock and our foundation. I am reminded of the words David wrote in our 20th Psalm…

Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed;
    he will answer him from his holy heaven
    with the saving might of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
    but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
They collapse and fall,
    but we rise and stand upright.

May this truth guide us through each day of our lives and may we live accordingly as we set aside the temporal and its trappings for an eternal perspective that centers our gaze directly on Jesus and our call to be faithful to him and him alone.
